How do i get it?

For most students these are installed automatically on their devices. Some options are available/more useful by visiting office.com and logging in with school credentials. 


Adobe Creative Cloud

     What is it?

A full featured graphics and video suite.

  5. Adobe Spark: This is an online graphics program that is great for making posters and infographics.

How do I get it?

HS Students and faculty have a creative cloud icon on your desktop. Double-click that "Creative Cloud" icon, login with school credentials and choose your programs you want to install.

MS Students have availability on a limited bases and would need to contact helpdesk for more information. 



ClassVR

What is it?

A classroom set of VR Headsets that you can check out for your class. This includes 360 Video and QR code based virtual manipulatives. 

How do I use it?

Teachers can schedule use by submitting a request to helpdesk. 


Nearpod Gold:

What is it?

Nearpod is a classroom presentation and summative assessment site. It features active slide sharing, quizzes, group interaction and other active learning activities. 

How do I get it?

Teachers initiate Nearpod sessions by going to https://nearpod.com In order to get the full benefit of the account (ie Gold Level) the teacher will need to contact helpdesk and request to be added to the school account.   Although we should have enough licenses for most teachers we don't automatically setup those accounts until requested.

Brainpop:

What is it

Brainpop is a asynchronous teaching tool in that it uses animated videos with quizzes and activities that align to those videos. Most people think of Brainpop for ES and MS. However, I've seen it used as high as AP Physics in HS to review conservation of energy and the students loved it. Note we also have access to Brainpop Jr, and Brainpop Espanol. 

How do I get it?

We have a sync setup with Brainpop. Teachers and students alike should visit https://Clever.ParkviewBaptist.com, click on "login with active directory", and use their school credentials. Teachers will find that their classes are rostered in the program and can immediately begin assigning activities to their students.

What is it?

Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. Over 400 Gizmos aligned to the latest standards help educators bring powerful new learning experiences to the classroom.

How do I get it?

Login to Clever.parkviewbaptist.com using Microsoft. Click on Gizmos



Activinspire software with or without the Activboard. 

What is it:

Activinspire is a slide based program for teachers to create lessons. Although similar to powerpoint in its construction, it is specifically designed for education and for use  with Promethean ActivBoards. 

How do I get it:

Teachers can install it from the software center. Most of the time this will grab a license to go with it. If not, please contact helpdesk and we'll provide you with a license number.

What is it:

An online "lite" Computer Aided Design program (CAD). You've probably seen it a hundred times on HGTV. For example Joana Gaines uses it to show what the remodel will look like. 


How to get it:

  • Go to https://edu.sketchup.com and choose sign in with microsoft. (Make sure to use your Parkview email and password to login)
  • Start sketching....
  • Note it runs on a web browser (Like Edge, Chrome, etc). So, it should run on any device with internet. It also syncs with your onedrive so, you can share and access files that way. 

Who can use it:

All Parkview Baptist Employees and Students with a school issued email address.

Discovery Education:

What is it?

A collection of Videos, Images, Books, Lesson Plans, etc that are curated specifically for educational use by Discovery Channel, Science Channel, and Public Broadcasting. Like 'youtube' but specifically for education. 

How do I get to it?

We are syncing with Discovery Education using the classlink portal. So point your browser to "Classlink.parkviewbaptist.com", click "sign in with ADFS", then use your school credentials. After your in, click on the Discovery Education and look around. 

You can search at the top right. Or, you can click browse by Topic at the top and look for materials related to your subject. 


BreakoutEDU.com:

What is it?

Breakout EDU brins the fun of an escape room to the learning through standards-aligned games, whether virtually, or in-person. 

How do I get to it?

Physical Breakout activity:

Contact your Divsions Breakout Rep. For MS that is the Librarian, for HS that is the English Department.  

Virtual Breakout activity:

Log into breakoutEDU. You should have received an invite. If not, please email helpdesk{at}parkviewbaptist{dot}com and request and invite.

What is it?

An online poster/infographic editing program. 

How do I get it?

Then you will "sign-in with Microsoft". This will activate your edu account. From there youc an invite students to share in your classroom experience. 



What is it?

A collection of articles for students to read.  Mostly Science and Social Studies.  Each article comes with information like publish date, and source, recommended school level and reading level. The cool thing about this is that you can change the reading level. So, you can choose to drop the reading level at the beginning of the year and then grow the level as students learn.  In addition, most articles come with activites like simple quizzes and writing assignments. 

How do I get it?

We roster and sync NewsEla with clever. So both teachers and students go to https://clever.parkviewbaptist.com  (there's a link at the top of the kb homepage.  Then login with active Directory using your school username and "crazy password". 

Teacher the first time, you will need to follow through the setup procedure and choose their classes to sync as well as what subject is taught.

What is it:

A gamification fun way to review/learn.  

What to do with it:

  • Use it as a review right before a test/quiz.
  • Use it to point out/correct misconceptions before a unit.

Edpuzzle:

What is it?

Edpuzzle allows you to take Youtube videos and add notes, questions, and comments to the videos. It ties in with MS Teams for easy assignments. 

How do I get it:

Teachers can go to https://edpuzzle.com and click on "login", then login with microsoft. After following the normal Microsoft login procedure, you will be able to create your own video quizzes or copy existing. Then you will seee your content. You can click on "+" by "My Classes" to add a class. Clicking on "Microsoft Teams" will allow you to add a video quiz assignment straight to yout class team.

The Advocate Newspaper:

What is it?

The Primary Newspaper for Baton Rouge and New Orleans:

How do I get it?

  • Join PBS wifi on campus. 
  • go to The Advocates Website. https://theadvocate.com/news  
  • You should see a banner at the top of the page, "Welcome, Parkview Baptist! You're logged in and ready to read!"
    If you don't see that banner, refresh the page until you do. 
  • After you see that banner you should have full access to all articles.
  • In addition you will be able to access the "E-Edition" and see the paper in its native format. You will also have access to archive versions in the E-Edition


What is is: 

A quiz platform that is fun. Great for classroom review. Can also be assigned. 

How to get it 

  • Go to quizizz.com and click on "login" (Quizizz)
  • Click on Continue with Microsoft. 
  • Login with School Credentials.

You will need to create your own classes and then send students a link to join. Here's how. 

Add students to a Quizizz Class

  1. Click on Classes on the left navigation pane
  2. Click on Create a class on the top right corner
  3. Enter a class name and tag a class color code
  4. Check the box for Require students to enter a guardian's email address or uncheck if not required
  5. Once you click on Create class, a link is created. This link is shared with students to join this particular class
  6. A specific code is generated for the class that can be shared with students. All students can join the class via the Quizizz URL: https://quizizz.com/join/class and enter the code. This code is valid upto 14 days. In case new or additional students need to be added to the same class after 14 days, click on 'generate a new code'
  7. Once students have the link, they are prompted to log in to Quizizz (if not already done) and they accept the invite to join the class
  8. You can also click the Refresh List option on the right pane to refresh the classes and students rostered.
