This is a guide explains how to printing print from PBS ipadsany PBS iPad while connected to the school WiFi. It 's is most useful to MS Middle School students; however, however anyone with a PBS ipad iPad can use itthese instructions

Step-by-step guide

  1. Login to Presto
    1. Open the 'Presto' app

    2. click cancel at the 'turn on location services...' box
    3. click 'login' at the top right corner
    4. type in your credentials. (username and password. You should not enter your full email address, but rather just your username. 
  2. Press the home button to go back to the home screen.
  3. Send your job to the print server
    1. Open the app you wish to print from and navigate to what you want to print. 
    2. click the "Share icon" at the top

    3. Now it depends on where you're printing from 
      1. Print directly: 
        1. Most places you will see a Click the print icon (note you may have to scroll to the right to find it"

        2. Use the dialog to select the options you want.

        3. Click Print
      2. Print using Presto "Magic Queue"
        If you don't see a print option, you should see the presto icon
        1. after clicking on the share icon, click on the presto icon

        2. you will see a dialog box. Click Print

        3. Open the Presto app and you should see the find-me-printer listed.

        4. You should see your file ready to print.  Click on the file name. (It is frequently "untitled")

        5. Presto should now send your document to the printer. 
  4. Retrieve your print.
    Now your job is in the print server you can retrieve your print from ANY of the xerox copying machines on campus. (1 in Library, 2 in MS hallways, 2 in HS hallways, etc). The steps for using the xerox find-me-printer are in another article on the kb. Xerox Machine Start Guide. Please follow the steps there to retrieve your print job.

  1. Once you have selected what you want to send to the printer, the first step is to click "Print" from the available list of options as shown below. 

    1. Note: If you do not see the print option on the bottom row, you may need to click the "More" button in the bottom right-hand corner to find the "Print" button if it is not already enabled.

      2. Next, choose the printer named "iPad-Find-Me-Printer" from the list of available options as shown below if it is not already selected.

            a. Note: The printer named "Xerox-Find-Me-Printer" may not work correctly if you are printing from an iOS device. Please be sure to select the correct Find-Me-Printer before proceeding.

      3.  If the device requests your username and password then you should enter your PBS username (firstname.lastname) and password as shown below. Then select "OK."

     4. If you entered a valid username and password, you will then see a screen with print options like the ones shown in the image below. Once you have set the desired options, press the "Print" button in the top right-hand corner of the window.

             a. If you need more than one copy you can press the "+" sign to increase the number of copies, and if you need fewer copies you can press the "-" sign to decrease the number of copies you want to send to the printer.

             b. If you do not need to print your job in full color, tap on the screen where it says "Color, Letter" and you will then see another option named "Black & White" which will allow you to send your print job in Black and White.

      5. To retrieve your print job, go to ANY of the Xerox Multi-Function Machines on campus, login to the machine, and select the job(s) you want to release (if you are uncertain which machines you are allowed to retrieve jobs from then please ask your teacher).

Now that your print job has been sent to the print server, you can retrieve the print job the same way that you would retrieve it if you sent it to the "Xerox-Find-Me-Printer."
