The Quick Way:

• connect your external display with HDMI or Dock

• Hold the Windows Button and press “p”.

• This should bring up a menu to pick how you want it to display

  • “OC Screen Only”
    will turn OFF the external screen

  • “Duplicate”
    Will make your laptop screen and your external display the same

  • “Extend”
    will make your two screens display different things.
    Confusing but good if you want the students to see one thing while you work on grades.

  • “Second screen only'
    Will Turn OFF your laptop display and only use the external display.

The “More Complete” Way

Get to the settings page for display.

• Win-P and then click on 'More Display settings”

• OR Right click on the desktop of your computer. Click on “Display Settings”

• OR open the “settings app”, choose system, then choose ‘display’

Edit the settings as you wish.

• This is more advanced

• You can ‘drag the monitors around’ to match your physical arrangement of monitor(s)

• you can extend some and duplicate some
